| Mountain Biking Activity |

Mountain Biking refers to the sporting activity of riding bicycles but unlike the normal bicycling which is done on the roads the mountain biking is done off the roads and on the mountainous regions or rough terrains, whether riding hybrid road bikes or the specially prepared mountain bikes. Almost all the mountain bikes have same kind of characteristics which underscore performance and durability in the rough terrains that is the large, wide knotted tires, front fork, circular frame tubing and dual deferral distress absorbers. The factor of durability refers to a more heavy weight of the bicycle to the ratio of rider than their corresponding road touring bikers. The sport of mountain biking has been approximately broken down into four classes that is the downhill, trials or street riding, free ride and cross country. Each of these categorizations has different levels of the safety consciousness with differing riding gears and mountain bikes. The sport of mountain biking alone requires endurance, self reliance and bike conducting dexterity and thus can be executed nearly anywhere through a gravel road to a back yard, but most of the mountain bikers go rancid road trails, either fire roads, country back roads or single tracks which are the narrow trials which include the ways through mountains, fields, forests and deserts. There are many features of mountain biking which are found to be parallel to track running rather than bicycling. It is so because the riders are usually away from civilization, but there is a sturdy value of character dependence in the sport of mountain biking. Riders even learn to mend the flat tires and broken bikes so as to avoid the risk being stranded midway miles away from assistance. This dependence on the survival skills account for the set dynamics of mountain biking. Club riders and other kind of group riders are ordinary particularly on long treks. The mountain biking is quite different from the normal road bicycling in numerous ways. The mountain bikes have lesser durable frame, wide, knobby and high contour tires that are accumulated on the rim of the cycle which is powerful than a normal bicycle rim plus a mountain bike has a wide variety of gears to help in climbing over the obstacles and in moving up the sharp hills and it also has a wide flat and up rising handlebar which permits a more comfortable upraised position and usually some type of deferral system is fixed into it for the frontage wheel or sometimes for both the wheels. Mountain bikes usually have disk brakes same as in automobiles instead of the normal rim brakes as in road bikes. Mountain bikes have different kinds of pedals than road bikes. It is so because the rider wears a specialized shoe which is engaged mechanically to the pedal. Helmets are a must for mountain biking as they provide the needed head protection if the rider accidentally falls on the sandy, rough and rocky mountainous topography. Helmets are full faced as well as the regular streamlined. Gloves are an important equipment in mountain biking and cover the complete thumbs and fingers for hand safety. Wearing appropriate glasses, shoes, clothing is very important for mountain bike riders. Also carrying hydration systems such as water bottles and water gear with sipping tubes is important. What one should not forget while setting out for mountain biking is to carry the bike instruments and pump to inflate the tires from time to time. |
